Lorraine Says: Fever in my Atmosphere

I think I've forgotten what normal feels like. I'm currently fist pumping like a champ because my fever is down to 101! That's practically normal, amIright?

Now, I know I complain a lot when I'm sick. This here blog won't really let me forget that. (Evidence here, here, here, here, and here. It's been a bad couple of years for my immune system.) BUT. This has legit been the worst couple of days of recent memory. I've caught the flu before, but I've never had it cause nausea and vomiting. According to the source of all wisdom, Wikipedia, this happens mostly with children. And Lorraine.

Monday afternoon, I started with the fever, achy body, dry heave coughing, etc. By Monday night, I was throwing up my entire life. By Tuesday night, the stomach stuff calmed down but the fever was still at 104 and change. I think I worried my mother when I started forgetting words and found it hard to explain myself. Thankfully, I had enough reason to realize I should probably just shut up and sleep, which I did.

So, yes, misery. No one will come into my room, naturally, so I've spent a lot of time just hanging out in the dark with my best friends Thermometer and Vicks Vapor Rub. I also have taken to making fever-inspired remixes. My favorites include:

"My girl likes to throw up all the time, throw up all the time, throw up all the tiiiiiime."

"Brrr! It's cold in here. There must be some fever in my atmosphere."

And of course, "Advil go down the hoooooole," because who didn't love Plucky Duck?

I owe you all a fantastic Penny birthday post, but it felt wrong to write/publish that when I felt fantastically shitty. And dehydrated. And sore. And gross.

Okay, done now! If I'm not back to normal posting schedule by next Monday, send out the search party. Look for a trail of pineapples. I don't know what it is about getting sick to my stomach that always, always makes me crave pineapples. Weird.

I hope you still like my sick face! It's really weird looking right now, I'm not gonna lie.

And what do you know? Complaining did help me feel a little better.

PLUCKY!

I hope you feel better :(  I had a flu like that about four years ago and I remember it like yesterday.  It was awful!  Just wait until you sweat out the fever.  If you feel disgusting now, you'll be in for a real treat when that happens.

Awwwww, poor Lor. I'm kind of glad I live on the other side of the world, because it means I can give you *hugs* without getting your germs #score ;)

Mostly kidding! Hope you're feeling better soon

I always say complaining is what I do best, as evidenced by every single post I write, ever.

Feel better, though! Your sick just sounds plain scary, instead of merely gross and inconvenient.

Also, yes to Plucky Duck! I LOVED TINY TOON ADVENTURES.

Awwww, the return of Sick Lor. (Is it weird that I like that?)

I loled so hard it would have make your headache to, "Throwing up my entire life" But for real--you should have gone to the hospital with your temp up at 104. That is literally when brain damage starts. Ok, so they would have just put you in a cold bath and it would have been costly, so next time, shake your self into an ice bath. You have to do it. YOU MUST.  Also, you know this is because of those little kids, right? It's time you heard the most important think my mother has ever taught me, "Children are portals of infection." You can still love them, but understand that your playing with fire, and dirty hands. Feel better!

Well I'm glad you're feeling, if only a little, better. It's a good sign. Complaining always makes you feel better. Especially if it's about something that can actually be changed, and then something does get changed, because you complained.

Hey, fellow sufferer! I've list my voice, I've got icky infections, and everything is sore! Did you give it to me?

Love your face, no matter what!

I think clearly what happened here is that you gave it to me. You do live in the future, after all.

Feel better soon, my dear. I know that this is no fun. :(

Thank you. And yes, whoever said complaining doesn't fix anything obviously never complained enough.

A little weird, though Sick Lor is sort of cute. It's a shame I didn't make her Hungry Lor or, um, Flexible Lor or something.

Funnily enough, this flu has been going around in my family and it all started because one of my aunts started working at a daycare. She caught it from those little infection portals. Awesome, right?

Thank you. I'm trying.

I loved Tiny Toons too! Like hardcore. I started watching Plucky Duck shorts on Youtube shortly after posting this, and yep, they are just as good as I remember them.

"I push the button, you no push the button. I push the button."

CLASSIC.

 Thank you my dear.

It's fine! I understand. My sister will only yell at me from across the house. Germs are yucky. ;)

Thank you. I look forward to feeling normal.

I'll spare you the sweaty details but yeah: SUCKED.

You have a moral obligation to create hungry Lor at least. Flexible Lor, I don't know--she'll need some cool sweat bands or something to really pull it off.

Complaining always helps. I've spent the day complaining to anyone who would listen about my swollen golf-ball eyes. Something allergic-y happened and today I look like a damn chihuahua.

Glad you're feeling better!
